Filmmaker Aditya Chopra, who is back to directing films after a long gap, has always cast Shah Rukh Khan in his films.
Aditya's "Befikre" has been making headlines since he announced that he will be directing it. Recently, a video starring Ranveer Singh was shared online and it revealed the lead actor.
Though Ranveer will play the main lead in the film, Aditya's movies are incomplete without SRK's touch. Thus, the "Dilwale" actor will reportedly do a cameo in the film, according to DNA.
Earlier, news of Shah Rukh and Aditya's fallout had been doing the rounds, but it seems it was just a rumour.
"There is no fallout between Shah Rukh and Aditya. He is already doing Fan for YRF. Also, SRK is busy for the next few years with different films. Also, like Adi has said, this film is different from anything he has done before. It's a love story that needs a younger pair," an actor close to Chopra told DNA.
"Adi even spoke to Shah Rukh before signing Ranveer. I believe SRK will make a guest appearance in Befikre. Just like Kajol does a bit role in all of Karan Johar's films or maybe it is just wishful thinking on our part," he further added.
Shah Rukh has worked with Yash Raj Films several times and he was the main lead in all Aditya directorials, including "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Mohabbatein" and "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi".
The filmmaker announced his next project on his father late director Yash Chopra's 83rd birthday (27 September). Yash Raj Films took to Twitter to share a letter, which could have been a conversation between the father and son duo.
In the letter, Aditya talks at length about the process that led him to think he could finally direct a film. "It's just very different to any of the films I have directed so far. Till now, all the films I have directed or written have been intense, dramatic and emotional. This one is just a light-hearted romance, nothing more," said the filmmaker.
While the lead actress is yet to be named, speculations are rife that it could be Anushka Sharma. If it is her, then this will be Ranveer and Anushka's fourth film together after "Band Baaja Baaraat", "Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl" and "Dil Dhadakne Do".
