Reports about Shah Rukh Khan's absence from Karan Johar's birthday bash have proved to be just rumours, as it has been revealed that the superstar did attend the party.

On Sunday, 25 May when Johar turned 42, the filmmaker as usual threw a grand party at his residence. Celebrities like Aamir Khan, Hrithik Roshan, Sonam Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Vidya Balan, Kangana Ranaut and many others were spotted attending the party. But Johar's dear friend Shah Rukh was nowhere to be seen.

But it is now being said that SRK quietly sneaked into the party late night, giving a miss to the photographers. A report by Pinkvilla claims that the superstar refused to be snapped as he made his way in to the party.

The news can further be confirmed from a Twitter post by Filmfare magazine editor Jitesh Pillaai who was present at the party. Pillaai spoke about the superstar's presence in Johar's party and said SRK partied till early hours.

Interestingly, the superstar, who is otherwise quite active on Twitter, did not even wish the filmmaker on his official handle. However, SRK's good friend Farah Khan went ahead and shared an old picture of her and Johar and wished the director on his special day.

Reports were abuzz that Shah Rukh was likely to miss his close friend Johar's birthday party this year, as speculations surrounding their troubled friendship are rife. The celebs who have been quite thick friends were supposed to have fallen out after the filmmaker invited SRK's rivals Salman Khan and Aamir to his chat show "Koffee with Karan."

The crack in the friendship rose to prominence as SRK, who has been a regular on Johar's chat show since its inception, failed to appear on it this season.

Further, it was reported that Shah Rukh was offered Johar's ambitious project "Shuddhi" but the actor had turned down the film, which had resulted in further strain in the duo's friendship.

However, it can now be assured that SRK and Johar's friendship is very much intact. The reports of tension between the two can also be rebuffed as Johar recently spoke about his friendship with SRK where he went on record to state that the actor was not just his friend but also his elder brother and father figure. He also spoke about the undeniable bond they shared.

"He (Shah Rukh) is there for me when I need him. He will hold your secret very closely to his heart. You can count on him. Shah Rukh was never my friend. He was my elder brother, who replaced my father in my family. He knows me as we have an emotion that goes back 25 years. With Shah Rukh and me, there will never be a phase that we will be apart," the director told The Times of India.

But the secretive way the superstar made an entrance into the party is strange, since Shah Rukh is otherwise quite media friendly and does not usually shy away from posing for the cameras.
