After Pakistani actress Mahira Khan, supermodel Waluscha De Sousa has reportedly been roped in for Shah Rukh Khan's "Fan".
"It's not a regular flick that has quintessential roles for a hero and heroine. The casting process of the film has been unusual. They've picked Waluscha, who is not from the industry, as the leading lady. She was a prominent supermodel after participating in a beauty pageant in 2000, but she took a break after marrying fashion choreographer Marc Robinson. Now, they have separated," Hindustan Times quoted a source as saying.
Although the makers haven't made any official announcement, this might be true if SRK's statements are anything to go by. A few months ago, he informed that Maneesh Sharma's "Fan" required two leading ladies. However, they didn't have to be big stars.
"I have Fan with YRF and Maneesh. There are two girls in the film. It is a film where I don't think you need a big lady star. It is a different film. It is one of the challenging films that I have done in 20 years. We are still discussing as to how we can take it ahead. It is a story of a fan of a movie star," PTI quoted him as saying.
While Mahira already has a positive opinion about her charming co-actor, there have been no statements made by Waluscha yet. Mahira reportedly said the "Happy New Year" star was the kindest of actors and would make her feel at ease.
"Fan", according to Shah Rukh, is a "cosy and intense film" which will see him essay a double role – commoner and a superstar – for which Academy Award-winning makeup artist Greg Cannom has been roped in. The actor has been working nights to wrap up shoot and is also making constant efforts to not fail the crew.
"Hav the sweetest & hard workingest kids on 'Fan'.Hope i live up2 their innocent expectations & mak them lov films more than they already do," he tweeted a couple of days ago.
