Shah Rukh Khan is reportedly going to replace Aamir Khan as the lead actor in Rakesh Sharma biopic.
It was reported some time ago that Aamir had opted out of the movie on Rakesh Sharma, the first Indian astronaut to go to the space. Aamir reportedly had some disagreements with the creative team of the movie, following which the actor chose to quit.
Now DNA reported that the makers of the biopic, which has been titled Salute, have decided to rope in SRK as the main lead.
The report said that Ranbir Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were also being considered for the role, but it is Shah Rukh who will be signed in for the project in most probability. To be directed by Mahesh Mathai, the biopic is likely to go on the floors in early 2018.
While there is no official confirmation yet about the cast of the film, it was reported that Priyanka Chopra will play the character of Sharma's wife in the movie.
Meanwhile, Aamir has been busy shooting for Thugs of Hindostan that also features Fatima Sana Shaikh, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif. Aamir was supposed to start shooting for Salute after the completion of Thugs of Hindostan.
But if the reports of ending his association with the film are true, the makers are likely to chalk out a different plan.
On the other side, SRK will next be seen in Aanand L Rai's untitled film, in which he will play a dwarf. "It is a movie on a vertically challenged special person. I enjoyed while shooting for the film. I think technically these kind of films should be made in India. I feel proud that my team is doing that," Shah Rukh had said earlier talking about his character in the film.
