Shah Rukh Khan, whose "Happy New Year" is to be released next week, will not promote his film on Salman Khan's controversial show "Bigg Boss 8" owing to his packed schedule.
"Shah Rukh won't be promoting his Diwali release on the ongoing eighth season of the high voltage reality show courtesy his choc-a-bloc schedule," Bollywood Life reported.
Interestingly, SRK visited the sets of "Kaun Banega Crorepati 8" and "Comedy Nights With Kapil" which clearly indicates his interest in TV promotions.
So, why does he not have time for Salman's show?
His equation with Salman is known to all. After a period of hate, the two superstars buried the hatchet and decided to move on by hugging each other at the Iftar party organised by Baba Siddique. Ever since then, the two have been generously showering praises on one another at public platforms and social media.
Salman went a step ahead and tweeted, "Just saw happy new year ka promo. Its kick ass." This gesture was widely appreciated by the "HNY" team.
When asked if the "HNY" team would promote their magnum opus on his show, Salman readily said yes.
"We will do a lot of promotions of 'Happy New Year'. The team does not need to worry. Though it is up to them if they want to come to the show or not, we will promote it," PTI quoted the actor from the "Bigg Boss 8" launch press conference.
Acknowledging Salman's large-heartedness, SRK went on to appreciate the superstar's words and said he would definitely want to be on "BB8" to talk about his film.
"Everybody from Bigg Boss and even Salman (Khan) has been very gracious about the film and have said nice things about it on Twitter and has invited us on Big Boss 8. If our time and schedules match we will definitely go on Bigg Boss with our film," the actor told India Today.
However, he reportedly added that the promotional campaigns are designed and finalised by the marketing team and that he doesn't have a say in it.
