Eid, Diwali, Holi or Rakhi, the ever-colourful Hindi film industry never misses an opportunity to celebrate.
One of the first few celebs to wish fans on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan was Shah Rukh Khan. The actor, who was recently in Dubai to launch "The Royal Estates by Shah Rukh Khan" along with wife Gauri, on his way back took a quick detour to the city of joy and got a Rakhi tied by Mamata Bannerjee, West Bengal Chief Minister.
Khan took to Twitter to express his joy. He wrote, "Happy RAKHI to everyone. Mine already started with Mamata Didi tying me mine. Thank you Kolkata & the Police Deptt."
Shortly after, Amitabh Bachchan posted on his blog, "An auspicious day tomorrow: RAKSHA BANDHAN ! the day for the sister to tie that band and thread of protection to the brother and the pledge from him of his love and care .."
While most stars took to social media to wish on this special occasion, Parineeti Chopra shared her favourite rakhi moments with DNA. "Back then, my dad would give them the Rs100 to give to me. Now that my brothers have all grown up, I tell them they should give me from their own pockets (grins)." She jokingly adds that the amount has risen to Rs 1,000 now as she wants to make more money now. Chopra has two younger brothers, Sahaj (21) and Shivang (20).
