Bollywood's iconic onscreen couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, is all set to celebrate the success of their 1995 film "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge" on "Comedy Nights with Kapil".
According to reports, the duo will shoot an episode with funnyman Kapil Sharma on 30 November at Film City in Mumbai. It is said that they will share memories and interesting anecdotes from the shoot of one of most successful films in the history of Indian cinema.
"This is the perfect platform for the celebration, considering that DDLJ was the first film to have a thirty minute television show chronicling its making which was telecast on the national broadcaster Doordarshan," stated a Mumbai Mirror report.
To complete its 1,000-week run at Mumbai's Maratha Mandir on 12 December, SRK had promised grand celebrations on touching the coveted milestone. "Aditya Chopra was planning something. We will take 15 minutes of unedited footage of the film. We will also watch the film together. There is a lot of affection attached to the film. It's a special moment for sure. It's the second longest (running) film. I think the first was a Chinese film. Yes, we will have a celebration," IANS quoted the superstar.
Meanwhile, Kajol, who essayed the role of the ever-obedient Simran in the film, took to Twitter to express her joy a few days ago.
"Thank u for all ur affection on #16yearsofKKHH & #19YearsOfDDLJ By the way, Anjali & Simran would also tell the kids to wash hands w/soap :)," she wrote.
The actress, who shies away from the prying eyes of the media and is hardly present on the social media circle, joined Twitter in September this year to campaign for hand-hygiene.
SRK and Kajol have done six films together, all of which are box office hits – "Baazigar", "Karan Arjun", "DDLJ", "Kuch Kuch Hota Hai", "Kabhie Khushi Kabhi Gham" and "My Name is Khan". They're considered to be one of the most-loved and successful onscreen pairs of Bollywood.
