It has been just a day that Shah Rukh Khan's Zero released, and rumours have started doing the rounds that the makers are planning to make a sequel of the movie.
Zero did not receive positive response from most of the critics, and that apparently put an impact on its opening day box office collection as well. While it is too early to predict if the film will be a hit or flop, reports stated that director Aanand L Rai and Shah Rukh are already eyeing to make a sequel.
It has been reported that the director and SRK are in love with the character of Bauua Singh, and hence, they want to make a sequel of Zero.
"It could be one sequel, or several spin-offs. Both Shah Rukh and Rai have fallen in love with Babua's character. He represents that incompleteness which makes all of us identify with him. And yet in spite of his 'short'comings he is optimistic and ebullient. It's a character that needs to be taken forward. He is the hero of our times," The Asian Age quoted a source as saying.
The climax of the movie also ends at a point that has a scope of a sequel. Nonetheless, there is no official confirmation on this line.
Zero was one of the most anticipated movies of this year, and it was expected to earn over Rs 30 crore on first day at the Indian box office. However, owing to the negative reviews, the film could collect Rs 20.14 crore on day 1, which is much below the expectations.
The film may perform better over the weekend, and festival of Christmas may further add to its collection.
