Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year" will earn the production cost only from its "SLAM! The Tour" shows. Shah Rukh is one of the smartest business men in the film industry and that's why he made it to the richest actors and richest Indians list.
To promote his movie "Happy New Year" in international market, he came up with "SLAM! The Tour" idea, which will take place in three countries UK, US and Canada from 19 September.
And "Happy New Year" team Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan, Vivaan Shah, Boman Irani, Sonu Sood and Farah Khan along with SRK will be a part of the shows. Also, Yo Yo Honey Singh, singer Kanika Kapoor, Madhuri Dixit Nene and Malaika Arora Khan will be a part of the shows.
Altogether, 11 shows will be held in the US and Canada in September and the Red Chillies company is expected to earn $1.2 million. The tickets sales have already begun and it starts from ₹ 7000, according to DNA.
The tickets are of ₹45,000 as well and NRI's are buying it for SRK's shows. If the total amount earned from each show is calculated, than SRK's Red Chillies takes home the production cost of the film. The amount earned from its box office run will be counted as surplus.
"Shah Rukh gets $1.2 million per show. This is his takeaway fee for every concert in the Slam tour exclusive of all other expenses pertaining to the concerts. If we calculate the total amount he takes home from the 11 concerts, Shah Rukh will cover the cost of production of his film Happy New Year from the concerts themselves. Whatever profits he makes at the box-office will be surplus," a source from the US associated with the organisers of the tour told DNA.
But it's not only SRK who will be benefitting from the tour; other actors participating in the concerts are also getting their full market price.
