Tamil movie "Vaaliba Raja", which was supposed to release on Friday, 1 January, 2016, has not hit the theatres as planned. The movie, also spelled as "Valeba Raja", has been delayed again after it went through some financial issues.
The morning and noon shows of "Vaaliba Raja" have been cancelled and there is still no clarity on when the film is going to be released. Trade tracker Sreedhar Pillai confirmed the news and tweeted: "#Jan 1 Release update @iamsanthanam's #Valebaraja shows getting cancelled as KDM not arrived due 2 financial issues. (sic)"
Some unconfirmed reports say it might see the light of the day on Friday evening, or possibly on Saturday, 2 January. Sources say the makers are working on resolving all the issues so the film gets released on time.
Among the six releases, "Vaaliba Raja" and "Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam", directed by Gitanjali Selvaraghavan, remain the most anticipated films.
"Vaaliba Raja" is written and directed by Sai Gokul Ramanath. Sethu, Santhanam, Vishakha Singh and Nushrat Bharucha are in the key roles. The cast also includes Jayaprakash, Sriranjini, VTV Ganesh, Devadarshini, Neelima Rani and Santhana Bharathi.
The movie has Radhan's music, Loganathan Srinivasan's cinematography and Sathyaraj Natarajan's editing. "Vaaliba Raja" had hit the floors on 2013 and was completed by 2014. But it failed to make it to theatres on several occasions owing to financial and other issues.
