Model Sofia Hayat, who was also a participant in "Bigg Boss 7," has become a Buddhist nun. The actress-singer shocked everyone with her recent pictures on social media: She has posted pictures of her as a nun and named herself Gaia Mother Sofia.

Sofia was best known for going completely nude when her then boyfriend Rohit Sharma played a mind blowing innings in a cricket match. The pictures became viral, and she later made headlines due to the controversial show "Bigg Boss."

Sofia's transformation from a sexy and hot babe to a Buddhist nun came as a surprise to fans. She even talked about her transformation on social media, writing: "We are beautiful without makeup..hair colour..fashion..we are perfect as we are. I'm sorry I gave you the impression otherwise. I am changed. I love you all. Gaia Sofia Mother. [sic]"

Sofia, a British national of South Asian descent, has worked in both British and Indian projects. She had raised the temperature with her sexy looks and bikini photoshoots in her modelling days.

With her perfect figure, Sofia was called the new "curvy icon" by Vogue Italia in their July 2012 edition, while she bagged the 81st position in the world list of FHM sexiest women in September 2013. But, now it seems the actress-model has shed her sexy avatar and taken the path of Buddhism.

Check out the pictures as a nun she shared on Instagram:

Sofia is not the first celebrity who has sacrificed the glamour world to become a nun. Barkha Madan became a Buddhist nun in the year 2012 and changed her name to Ven. Gyalten Samten. Barkha was a model, actress (both TV and cinema) and a film producer.

Barkha was also a finalist in Miss India contest 1994 along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Sushmita Sen and Swetha Menon, and was a runner-up at the Miss Tourism International at Kuala Lampur, Malaysia, 1994 as well. She made her debut on the big screen with the 1996 Bollywood movie "Khiladiyon Ka Khiladi" alongside Akshay Kumar and Rekha.
