Entertainment channel Asianet's quiz show "Sell Me the Answer" is one of the most watched Malayalam television reality shows. Actor Aneesh G Mathew, who contested in the Monday's episode hosted by Suraj Venjarumoodu, participated in the show to help a family based in Ernakulam, Kerala.

Aneesh, who was last seen in the movie "Valliyum Thetti Pulliyum Thetti," came for the show with three members of the family — Antony, Ancy and ailing Gasper. However, not just Gasper, his brother Jomson and twin-sisters Bhagitha and Nikitha are also suffering from the same disorder as the kids have been diagnosed with a rare liver disorder named Wilson's disease. The patients have more copper content in their urine.

"Gasper was diagnosed with the rare disease in 2009 after he fainted in school. Doctors said he had typhoid and was admitted to hospital for 7 days. However, few days later, his stomach started bulging and witnessed colour change in his body. Doctors were not able to diagnose the actual disease and he was soon taken to Dr. Sukumaran in Ettumanoor, Kottayam," Ancy told during the show.

"The pediatrician prescribed for urine test. He was then diagnosed with Wilson's disease and his condition was said to be very critical. Soon Gasper was taken to PVS hospital in Kochi and was treated by gastroenterologist and director of the hospital Dr. Mathew Philip. It was then each one of the family members were asked to do a blood test. We were told that ceruloplasmin enzyme that controls copper count in the body has to be 20 to 18. My husband and me had the count 22, but it less than three for four kids. That's when the doctors informed that all of them have the same disease, which is a rare case in the history of medical science," the mother-of-four said.

The kids need life-long treatment and the only way for their survival is liver transplantation as it cannot be completely cured with just medicines. Each surgery will cost around Rs. 30 lakh and the family is in need of more than Rs. 1.5 crore for the entire treatment and medicines. "They cannot be brought to our house after surgery as they need an hygenic environment," Ancy added. The family also got Rs. 3 lakh aid from the government after they had advertised about their situation in newspapers. Gasper completed Class 10 from Mridula Sparsham special school in Thrippunithura. His brother is a Class 10 student and the sisters are in Class 9.

During the 42nd episode of "Sell Me the Answer," Aneesh won Rs. 11,89,499. Notably, a trader named Naveen Bhaskar from Thrissur had helped Aneesh in answering a question for Rs. 1.
