Oppo launched its latest F1 Plus in India Tuesday, April 5, after receiving great response from buyers for its affordable F1 smartphone. The all-new F1 Plus packs major upgrades over the F1, compelling buyers to lean towards an improved and advanced camera-centric, premium smartphone.
Priced at Rs. 26,990, Oppo said the F1 Plus will be available across India mid-April. The new handset comes in gold and rose gold colours, adding to the premium nature of the F1 Plus. The specifications of the F1 Plus were no secret after the company had said that the new handset is simply an international variant of its recently-launched R9 smartphone.
"Today, we are very excited to launch the second device of our photography-focused F series in India after our Selfie Expert F1, which created great market acceptance with demands pouring in from every corner of the country," Sky Li, Oppo Global VP said in a statement. "Camera phones are always our focus and we plan to bring out the best camera experiences to our consumers."
We already covered the specifications of the F1 Plus in our live blog earlier in the day. Here is a spec-sheet giving out the details for those who missed the updates. Oppo F1 Plus' main features include its highly-capable selfie camera, fingerprint scanner, metallic body design, reliable battery and increased storage, which is three times the storage the F1 smartphone offers.
Oppo F1 Plus sports a 5.5-inch Full HD Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection, encased within a full-metal unibody. The ultra-slim bezels, which measure just 1.66mm, give an edge-to-edge look.
The F1 Plus features a 13MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED flash and TrueBright Image Signal Processor (ISP) engine. It has features such as HDR, Ultra HD, Filter mode, GIF mode, Double Exposure and Professional Mode to further enhance photography. On the front side of the device, there is an improved 16MP Hi-Light camera with 120-degree wide-angle lens, PDAF, ISOCELL technology and f/2.0 aperture. Features such as selfie panorama and Beautify 4.0 enable improved selfies.
Oppo F1 Plus is powered by a 2.0GHz 64-bit octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 (MT6755) processor, Adreno 405 GPU, 4GB RAM and Android 5.1 Lollipop-based Color OS 3.1. The updated Android skin delivers smoother experience and has 25 percent faster app boot time compared to ColorOS 2.1.
Adding more value to the handset is an ultra-fast fingerprint scanner integrated within the Home button of the phone, which the company claims, unlocks the device in just 0.2 seconds. The Chinese tech giant also said the fingerprint sensor is equipped with new technology that gradually refines the image of the user's fingerprint to make it more efficient.
Another strong USP of the Oppo F1 Plus is its 2850mAh battery, which uses the company's proprietary VOOC flash charge technology. According to the company, its rapid battery charging tech has popularised the "Charge for five minutes, talk for two hours" statement. The new device is expected to charge 75 percent in just 30 minutes and uses low voltage to avoid overheating of the device.
