The second official teaser of the Malayalam film, "Njan Steve Lopez" directed by Rajeev Ravi has been released. The 23 seconds teaser introduces the characters Steve, played by Farhaan Faasil and Anjali played by Ahaana Krishnakumar who are smitten by love.
The first teaser of 21 seconds was released on 22 June and was well received. The teaser introduced the title character of Steve Lopez played by Farhaan.
In the film, Steve is an adolescent from Trivandrum. The naive young man from an army family shares this virtual candy floss world with Anjali, who also happens to be the daughter of a police officer.
Farhaan is the youngest son of filmmaker Fazil and brother of actor Fahadh Faasil. He is a former student of Anupam Kher's acting school and was waiting for his right time to foray into films, when Ravi approached him with this offer.
"Njan Steve Lopez" is Farhaan's debut film. There were many rumours about his entry to films few years back. But the young actor wanted to make a right entry unlike his brother's. His brother Fahadh made his entry to film by acting the lead role in 2002 film "Kaiyethum Dhoorathu," directed by his father Fazil, but the film was a commercial disaster and was highly criticised. He later made a comeback in 2009 with "Kerala Cafe" and began a successful film career with "Chappa Kurish" (2011), "22 Female Kottayam" (2012), "Diamond Necklace" (2012) and "24 North Kaatham" (2013). Fahadh is now one of the top rated actors in Malayalam. Farhaan later admitted that he was scared whether he would be compared to his brother Fahadh and was very careful in choosing his first film.
Ahaana Krishna, daughter of actor Krishnakumar is Steve's love interest Anjali in the film. She has earlier turned down Ravi's directorial venture, "Annayum Rasoolum" because of her studies, but the actress-director Geethu Mohandas convinced her to take up "Njan Steve Lopez." The character of Anjali is simple and there is no complications surrounding her.
The film also has theatre artists like Aliencier Lee, James and Anil Nedumangadu playing pivotal roles.
The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 8 August. The story of "Njan Steve Lopez" is written by Santhosh Echikkanam, who had also scripted Ravi's earlier venture "Annayum Rasoolum." S. Radhakrishnan has composed the music and Pappu is the cinematographer.
