Fishermen in Kerala demand separate ministry to redress their issues

Thiruvananthapuram, July 23 (ANI): A fishermen forum from Kerala conducted a signature campaign demanding Narendra Modi-led government for a separate ministry to monitor issues related to fisherfolk. BJP leader O Rajagopal kick-started the campaign, urging central government to take back permits to foreign vessels to fish in Indian seas as it would affect country___s fishermen. President of National Fishworkers___ Forum in Thiruvananthapuram, T Peter, said they would hold a national level meeting to create an action plan against the Modi government, if their demands were not met. New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Political leaders on Tuesday reacted over the 17 point people-oriented agenda which has been sent by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his ministries. The agenda covers the areas he wants to address most urgently, including enhancing the road and rail network, and boosting labour reforms. The agenda was sent on July 10, and all the ministries were told to submit detailed action plans, with sharp focus on delivery and implementation, by July 20 so as to put the agenda in place when the NDA government completes its first 100 days in office in August-end.
