Army recovers huge cache of arms and ammunitions from militant hideout in Kashmir

Baramulla, July 27 (ANI): Indian security forces busted a militant hideout in Kashmir's Baramulla district and seized a huge cache of arms and ammunition from the area on Sunday. A joint operation was launched by a branch of Indian army, Rashtriya Rifles, and provincial police after intelligence inputs. During the raid, the security forces seized AK-47, two magazines which consist of 225 rounds, 19 rounds of heavy calibre, 13 UBGL round, one communication set, three Chinese grenade, two rockets, three detonators and various other ammunitions. Recovered arms and ammunition were destroyed soon after the seizure. The restive region has witnessed numerous militant attacks, insurgency, and infiltration attempts from across the border in the last two decades. Jul 27, 2014

Chinese graziers pitching tents in Ladakh nothing to be concerned about: Praful Bakshi

New Delhi, July 27 (ANI): Talking about the Chinese graziers who reportedly pitched tents in the Demchok area of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir this week but withdrew after talks between troops on either side of the border, Wing Commander (Retd), Indian Air Force, Praful Bakshi said that this is nothing to be concerned about. The incident comes on the back of two reported incursion attempts by Chinese troops earlier this month in Demchok and Chumar areas of Ladakh. Bakshi said that the new government in India would not leave any stones unturned in this regard. Some of those now living in the refugee camps are also worried about the prospect of going back, while many fled to escape poverty, persecution and ethnic wars. Kathmandu, July 26 (ANI): Foreign minister Sushma Swaraj, who is in Nepal for a three-day visit said the neighbouring country was top priority for the government. Swaraj will co-chair third meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission, which is taking place after 23 years. The commission is expected to review the entire range of bilateral relations. During her visit, she will also meet her Nepalese counterpart Mahendra Bahadur Pandey. Swaraj hoped her visit would boost India-Nepal ties. The meeting will hold discussions in five different clusters -political, security and border issues; economic co-operation and infrastructure; trade and transit; power and water resources.
