New Delhi, Sep 19 (ANI): Chinese President Xi Jinping along with his wife Peng Liyuan on Friday left for China from New Delhi airport. Jinping and his wife were escorted by HRD Minister Smriti Irani along with other dignitaries. Xi Jinping earlier on Friday met a delegation of Congress leaders including Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh at Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi. He then wrote a few words in the guest book at Rajghat and was presented with a few books on Mahatma Gandhi along with a model of 'charkha'. Jinping is on a three day visit to India which started with his arrival in Ahmedabad on September 17. China and India have signed three agreements to boost trade and set up an industrial park. Jinping arrives in Delhi post private dinner with PM Modi at riverfront

Ahmedabad, Sep 18 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a private dinner for Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Sabarmati riverfront in Ahmedabad after which Jinping arrived in New Delhi. Modi, Xi and other dignitaries visited the riverfront, which was Modi's pet project when he was chief minister of Gujarat. The site was decked up with colourful lighting and fountains for the rare occasion and artistes performed traditional dance to entertain the dignitaries. The private dinner was attended by limited number of guests, probably five persons from each side, where traditional Gujarati food was served. Ahmedabad /New Delhi, Sept 17 (ANI): Security agencies cast a tight security net around Ahmedabad where on Wednesday Chinese President Xi Jinping will begin his three-day India visit aimed at allaying suspicions and boosting ties.The Gujarat government is leaving no stone unturned for grand welcome for Xi who arrives on the day when Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also marking his 64th birthday.Security personnel were deployed across the city and security was especially tight on the roads leading up to the airport in Ahmedabad.
