Soldiers guarding Indian border exchange sweets to mark 68th Independence Day

Punjab/Siliguri, Aug 15 (ANI): Border guards of India and Pakistan on Friday exchanged sweets at the Attari-Wagah joint check post between both the countries on the occasion of India’s 68th Independence Day on Friday. Inspector general, Border Security Force (BSF) Border Range, Ashok Kumar, wished the country on the occasion of Independence Day. People on India’s side waved Indian flags near the border gates as military bands played. The sweets exchange signifies promoting cordial relations between security forces of neighbouring countries. Protest intensifies in Assam after killing of two villagers

Assam, Aug 14 (ANI): The Assam-Nagaland border areas remained tense amid killing of two villagers in Uriamghat of Golaghat district of Assam. The two victims were hit by bullets fired by unidentified persons from Nagaland side when they were protesting against the kidnapping of two teenagers by suspected miscreants. Various student organization of Assam took to street and burnt the effigy of Chief Minister of Assam Tarun Gogoi for inaction in the matter.
