India and China sign 12 agreements including one on 5-years trade and economic co-operation pact

New Delhi, Sep 18 (ANI): India and China on Thursday signed 12 agreements, including one on five years economic and trade development plan. An agreement on audio visual co-production, two documents on railways, another document on work plan for drug administration and a MoU on culture were exchanged between the two countries. An MoU on peaceful use of outer space and a twinning agreement between Shanghai and Mumbai were also signed. Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured that he will take concrete steps to correct the trade imbalance and give more market access and investment in China. Railway Minister plans connectivity to all north-eastern states

Guwahati, Sep 16 (ANI): Union Railway Minister, Sadananda Gowda, on Tuesday (September 16), expressed satisfaction as he reviewed Northeast Frontier Railway in northeastern Assam state. Gowda held review meetings with the departmental heads and other officials. He said the federal government aimed at completing 34 various ongoing projects of Indian Railways in the northeast over the next six years. New Delhi, Sep 12 (ANI): Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, on Friday reviewed progress of eight major infrastructure sectors in the country. The sectors included Civil Aviation, Ports and Inland Waterways, Railways, Roads, Telecom, Power, Coal, and New and Renewable Energy. The meet was a part of the regular series of reviews on infrastructure, which the prime minister takes every month. Modi stated that accelerated infrastructure development was his top priority, and also stressed the need for creating world-class infrastructure in India. Delhi to Taj Mahal in 90 minutes, high speed train cracks trial run

Agra/ New Delhi, Sep 11 (ANI): Rail travellers will be able to reach the famed Taj Mahal's Agra city from New Delhi in just 90 minutes once commercial operations of the high speed train, which has successfully completed its second and the final trial run, starts in November. Railways on Thursday successfully conducted a trial run of a passenger train at a speed of 160 km per hour between Delhi and Agra, making it the country's fastest train. Neeraj Sharma, Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO), Northern Railways said that this trial run was not for testing the speed but for time-tabling. The railways had decided to conduct three trials for the semi-high speed train but the second trial scheduled on August 22 was cancelled due to unavailability of resources.
