SCI launches first shipping service to Myanmar

Chennai, Oct 04 (ANI): India launched its first shipping service to Myanmar connecting both the countries under the concept of 'look east' policy to boost bilateral ties. The shipping corporation of India (SCI) and the ministry of shipping have launched a direct service to Myanmar for the first time with the help of foreign ministry and commerce ministry. The fortnightly service was flagged off at Krishnapatnam Port, one of the fastest growing ports on the East Coast of India, after it sailed from Chennai late Friday. Secretary, Ministry Of Shipping, Vishwapati Trivedi said beyond commercial trade it will strengthen trade relationship between both countries. Pak says India inflexible on Siachen, Indian Experts react

New Delhi, Oct 03 (ANI): Pakistan foreign ministry's remark that India has never responded positively on proposals regarding demilitarisation of Siachen in Jammu and Kashmir was slammed by the Indian Experts on Friday. While addressing a briefing in Islamabad, Pakistan's foreign ministry spokesperson Tasnim Aslam had said a proposal to demilitarise Siachen and declare it as a Peace Park had cropped up during bilateral discussions in the past, but Indian policy towards resolution of this issue always remained inflexible. Aslam said the proposal was initiated to find peaceful solutions in the region where the ecosystem is getting affected due to regular conflicts. However, Lieutenant General (retired), PN Hoon, dismissed it as nonsense. Meanwhile, former director general of police, Jammu and Kashmir, MM Khajuria, said since Pakistan lost to India in terms of acquiring hold in Siachen, they have been making such comments often. Pakistan says India inflexible on Siachen

Islamabad, Oct 03 (ANI): Pakistan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tasnim Aslam said India had never responded positively on proposals regarding the demilitarization of the Siachen Glacier, where Pakistani and Indian troops have fought at altitudes of over 20,000 feet in temperatures of minus 60 degrees Celsius for 28 years. Aslam said a proposal to demilitarize Siachen and declare it as a Peace Park had cropped up during bilateral discussions in the past, but Indian policy towards resolution of this issue always remained inflexible. She said the proposal had been made with the aim of finding a peaceful solution to the conflict region in order to help the regeneration of ecosystems affected by the conflict. New Delhi/ Bhiwandi, Oct 02 (ANI): As Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' early on Thursday, Indian Air Force too came forward to take part in the campaign.
