UPSC stand-off: Aspirants, politicos fumes despite government's announcement

New Delhi, Aug 05 (ANI): Even as the government agreed not to test candidates for English skills in the civil services preliminary examination scheduled for August 24, protesting civil-service aspirants fumed and vowed to continue their almost month-long stir to demand scrapping of the civil services aptitude test (CSAT). The Arvind Verma committee report submitted to the government has recommended that no change should be made in the CSAT as it is a scientifically formed exam and shouldn't be tinkered with. However, politicos from rival parties also stepped up attack on the government over the issue. The government however claimed that it is making serious efforts to resolve the matter. Aug 5, 2014

AAP leader Ashutosh on Delhi Election

New Delhi, July 17 (ANI): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ashutosh on Thursday alleged that the BJP is forgetting all sorts of morality claims made after the Delhi polls last year, in an effort to form their government in Delhi this time. Delhi has been under President's rule since February when Kejriwal resigned from the post of chief minister after his 49-day-old government failed to table its Jan Lokpal Bill in the state assembly. The Assembly has been under suspended animation ever since and no party has staked claim to form the government. BJP had won 31 seats in the Delhi Assembly polls of December last year but its number has come down to 28 in the 70-member house as three of its MLA s - Harsh Vardhan, Ramesh Bidhuri and Pervesh Verma - were elected to Lok Sabha in the recent general elections.
