Nanavati Commission submits final report to Gujarat CM

Ahmedabad, Nov 18 (ANI): The Nanavati Commission headed by Justice GT Nanavati on Tuesday submitted its final report to Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel. The report is related to the Godhra incident of 2002 riots which took place in Gujarat when Narendra Modi was the CM. New Delhi/Ahmedabad, Nov 10 (ANI): Political leaders on Monday welcomed mandatory voting bill in Gujarat. State Governor OP Kohli recently signed the controversial Gujarat Local Authorities Laws Bill, 2009, which has the provisions of compulsory voting and 50 per cent reservation for women in the institutions of local self-governance. While BJP, NCP along with BJD and Congress welcomed the same and said that they will wait to see on the repercussions of the same and how it is accepted in India, Gujarat PCC Chief Arjun Modhwadia stood against the same. Will not distinguish between people: SIT on Black Money

Ahmedabad, Nov 01 (ANI): The Chief of SIT on Black Money Justice (Retd) MB Shah said on Saturday that the Special Investigation Team will not distinguish between rich and poor people in terms of investigation on black money. Shah said that the report shall be submitted to Supreme Court in December but that will not finish probe as it will be a time consuming process. Maharashtra CM designate Fadnavis participates in 'Run for Unity' event

Cyclone Nilofar: MeT says rainfall expected, NDRF ready with rescue teams

Ahmedabad, Oct 30 (ANI): As Cyclone Nilofar is about to hit the coast of Gujarat the teams of NDRF have been made ready by the state government. Meanwhile the Director of Ahmedabad Meteorological Department, Manorama Mohanty said that the cyclone is expected to make landfall followed by heavy rainfall for the next 48 hours in the coastal areas of Gujarat.
