New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): Congress leader Manish Tewari on Thursday dubbed the government's move to transfer Finance Secretary Arvind Mayaram within a fortnight as an exalted example of administrative tyranny, and said that it is a means to terrify officers. Mayaram, who has been transferred yet again, will now join the Ministry of Minority Affairs, and not the Ministry of Tourism. New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Chief Ministers of Nagaland and Assam on Wednesday met Home Minister Rajnath Singh amid growing tension at the state borders. The meet comes at a time when a 1000-hour deadlock has been imposed in the Karbi Anglong district of Assam, which shares its border with Nagaland. It was called on Monday by the Joint Action Committee for Autonomous State (JACAS) against a delay in announcing dates for talks with the government for creation of a separate autonomous state within Assam under the Indian Constitution. Indian Postal Banking has lots of scope due to connectivity, says Communications Minister

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Even with widespread retail banking in place, India's postal banking service has a large scope due to its connectivity, stressed Communications and IT Minister, Ravi Shankar Prasad on Wednesday. Prasad was inaugurating the Postal Savings Banks Forum in New Delhi, which was organized by World Savings and Retail Banking Institute (WSBI) jointly with the National Savings Organisation (Ministry of Finance) and the Department of Posts. The theme of the forum was "The Rising Force of Postal Banking in the Retail Banking Market". Prasad said that postal banking transcended the rich and poor barrier, the biggest asset being the network of post offices throughout the country.
