Govt announces measures to benefit people living in tribal areas

New Delhi, March 01 (ANI): Union Rural Development Minister, Jairam Ramesh, announced in New Delhi that the central government will improve the already existing welfare schemes and launch new programmes to benefit people living in tribal areas. Ramesh announced a number of measures while addressing a news conference. The most important announcement was the provision of 150 days of guaranteed employment to people living in tribal areas, as part of the government’s flagship welfare scheme, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MGNREGA). Cabinet approves President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh

New Delhi, Feb 28 (ANI): The Union Cabinet on Friday decided to impose President's Rule in Andhra Pradesh, which is being split to create the new state of Telangana. The state has been without a chief minister after N. Kiran Kumar Reddy resigned from the post and the Congress Party to protest against the passage of the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Bill, 2013, which paved the way for the creation of the new state of Telangana.
