Nawaz Sharif, Nepal PM and Afghanistan President arrive in Delhi

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif landed in India's national capital to attend Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony scheduled to be held on Monday evening. Modi will take oath as the new prime minister of India in the presence of all SAARC nations. Sharif is accompanied by a 14 member delegation and is guarded by around 8-10 Pakistan elite commandos considering the high-level threat he faces. Before leaving from Lahore, Sharif said that he was "carrying a message of peace to India." Meanwhile, Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala and Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai also arrived in Delhi to attend Modi's swearing in ceremony. May 26, 2014

New Delhi, May 26 (ANI): Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa on Monday arrived in India's capital New Delhi to attend Modi's swearing-in ceremony to be held in the evening. Rajapaksa arrived with a delegation comprising of Minister of External Affairs G.L. Peiris, Minster of Livestock and Rural Community Development, Arumugam Thondaman, Mayoress of Jaffna Yogeshwari Pathkunarajah, Monitoring Member of Parliament Sajin de Vass Gunawardena and Secretary to the President Lalith Weeratunga. New Delhi, May 25 (ANI): Leaders of SAARC nations started arriving in India's capital New Delhi on Sunday to attend PM designate Narendra Modi's swearing-in ceremony to be held on May 26. Speaker of the Bangladesh National Parliament, Dr. Shirin Sharmin Chaudhary arrived with a delegation to attend the ceremony. Chaudhary was warmly received and welcomed at the airport by Sripriya Ranganathan, Joint Secretary (BM) in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Also, Bhutan Prime Minister H.E. Lyonchen Tshering Tobgay arrived in New Delhi to be present at the ceremony. Prime minister designate Narendra Modi in a first of kind has invited all the heads of State from SAARC nations to attend his swearing-in ceremony on May 26. Artists pay tribute to Sufi singers at a musical event in Kashmir

Srinagar, May 23 (ANI): The Kashmir Music Club in collaboration with radio station Radio Kashmir organised a musical event to commemorate legendary Sufi musicians in Jammu and Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar. The event was organized to commemorate long gone Kashmiri Sufi artists like Ghulam Ahmad Sofi, Ghulam Nabi Sheikh, Ghulam Qadir Langoo, Vijay Kumar Mallah and Padma Shri Awardee Gulam Ahmad Saznawaz. These artists were instrumental in promoting Sufi music in the state. Several Kashmiri artists, including poets, writers and singers, took to the stage to entertain the audience and educate them about Sufi music at the same time.
