Ramban, Nov 20 (ANI): BJP Chief Amit Shah reviewed the poll preparations in Jammu and Kashmir and urged people to vote against dynasty politics to maintain the valley's integrity. Shah hit out at the opposition, Congress party and its ally in Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference (NC), for "lack of development" in the valley in the past six decades. The BJP president also demanded an enquiry into utilization of funds in the state. While addressing a gathering on Thursday in Ramban district in support of the party candidate, Neelam Langeh, Shah claimed that only the BJP was capable of bring about the complete integration of Jammu and Kashmir with the rest of India. He urged the people to help the party achieve its 'mission 44+' in the state. Shah said that if the people of the state want development, good governance and employment, they must vote for BJP. India does not expect power tariff rise after coal mine auctions, says Coal Secretary

New Delhi/ Dhanbad, Nov 20 (ANI): The government does not expect power tariffs to rise after it auctions more than 200 coal blocks, Coal Secretary Anil Swarup has said. The Coal Ministry on Tuesday had released draft guidelines for allocation of 74 coal blocks. The due date for coal auction is February 11. The Ministry will compensate prior allottees unsuccessful in coal auction. Swarup said that the idea was to keep a lid on tariff rather than adopt a revenue maximisation approach. The reserve price would be determined before December 22, while the bidding fees will be based on geological reserves of coal mines. Nov 20, 2014

Massive employment drive for youth takes place in Kashmir

Srinagar, Nov 19 (ANI): A recruitment drive restarted in Jammu and Kashmir and corporate firms held workshops to provide employment to youth as the region was recovering from the worst floods in a century. The three-day drive was launched on Monday in Kashmir's capital, Srinagar, by a special initiative called Udaan or 'flight' under the public-private partnership, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) India. 'Udaan' has been working in the state for three years but had halted its efforts after floods struck the region in September. A coordinator of the NSDC, Bint Abass, said that they were renewing efforts to provide jobs to the affected youth in the state. Abass added that 18 corporate firms were participating in the drive to train and recruit youth in a wide range of sectors like banking, information technology, finance, hospitality and education. India quarantines man recovering from Ebola

New Delhi, Nov 19 (ANI): India has quarantined a man who was cured of Ebola in Liberia but continued to show traces of the virus in samples of his semen after arriving in the country, Health Minister said. The ministry said in a statement that the Indian national had been shown to be negative for Ebola in tests conforming to World Health Organisation (WHO) guidelines, but had been quarantined as a precautionary measure when he arrived at New Delhi airport on November 10. Later, tests of his semen detected traces of the virus. Union Health Minister, JP Nadda, said that body fluids were tested in National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) and Institute of Virology (NIV) where both have tested positive. The Indian man carried with him documents from Liberia that stated he had been cured. He will be kept in quarantine until the virus is no longer present in his body, and will undergo tests over the next 10 days or so, a senior Health Ministry official said. New Delhi, Nov 18 (ANI): The Union Home Ministry has sanctioned Z-category security for yoga guru Ramdev. The yoga guru already has Z-category security provided him to by the Uttarakhand government, but the decision to grant him central security cover was taken after the Intelligence Bureau submitted a report citing a threat to his life outside his home state. Ramdev campaigned for BJP during the Lok Sabha polls. Reacting over this BJP said that there should not be politicization over providing security to anybody by such agencies. Nov 18, 2014
