4 killed, 4 injured in train-SUV collision in Nawada

New Delhi, Dec 16 (ANI): Four people were killed on Tuesday in a train-SUV collision in Nawada district of Bihar. The incident happened when a Bolero vehicle carrying eight people was crossing an unmanned railway gate and rammed into the Howrah-Gaya Express train. Four others in the car were seriously injured. The injured persons have been admitted to the district hospital for treatment.

India terms Hafiz Saeed's rally in Pakistan as mainstreaming of terrorism

New Delhi, Dec 06 (ANI): India termed Mumbai attacks mastermind and Islamist Hafiz Saeed's rally in Pakistan's Lahore as mainstreaming of militancy.' Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Syed Akbaruddin while addressing mediapersons in New Delhi said that large amount of police personnel were deployed at the event. Akbaruddin said "even train services were given" in a reference to reports that Pakistan Railways operated trains from Hyderabad in the Sindh province and from Karachi for the meet. Thousands attended the two-day congregation organised by Saeed's Jaamat-ud-Dawa at the historical Minar-e-Pakistan in Lahore. Saeed is the founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), a militant group banned in Pakistan but tolerated unofficially and believed to be close to the army. Saeed founded the LeT, which India blames for the rampage in Mumbai, in the 1990s. He has denied involvement in any attacks.

Railways cancel 16 trains due to fog in Uttar Pradesh

Gorakhpur, Dec 04 (ANI): The railway authorities cancelled at least 16 trains as dense fog descends upon Uttar Pradesh. Heavy fog and haze covered Gorakhpur city of Uttar Pradesh, leading to delay and cancellation of trains passing through the area. Chief Public Relation Officer (CPRO) of northeastern Railways, Alok Kumar Singh, said on Thursday (December 04) that drivers are given precautionary orders not to exceed the speed of trains to avoid any mishap amid low visibility. Besides, certain trains have been rescheduled and their destinations and routes changed to avoid congestion, Singh said. Passengers are facing undue inconvenience.

Kisama, Dec 01 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday inaugurated the Hornbill Festival and Nagaland Statehood Day celebrations in Kisama. Dressed as a Naga warrior while addressing people at the venue, Modi said that unlike the rest of India which had SEZs (Special Economic Zones), the Northeast region was full of NEZs, that is, 'Natural Economic Zones'. PM Modi also announced a package of rupees 28 thousand crore for the establishment of 14 new railway lines in the Northeast. MP train robbery case: Investigation underway and culprits will be punished, says state Home Ministe

Bhopal, Nov 20 (ANI): Talking about a case of robbery in moving train near Karonda railway station in Madhya Pradesh where a 29 year old woman was severely injured as she fell out of the train, state Home Minister Babulal Gaur said that investigation is underway. He said that culprits will be caught and punished. Meanwhile, state Railways ADG Maithili Sharan said that till now, no exact information has been gathered and that investigation is underway. He said that the ticket collector let the two men enter and is now trying to play safe. He also assured of proper actions against the culprits. The victim is stable and is undergoing treatment.

Women seriously injured after alleged robbery on moving train

Bhopal, Nov 20 (ANI): A 29-year-old woman was severely injured after she fell out of a moving train while she was chasing the two men who had allegedly robbed her near Karonda railway station. The woman sustained serious injuries in the incident and is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Bhopal. According to the media reports, the victim's belongings including a hand bag, her gold chains and two smartphones were missing. Victim's mother claimed that there is no security for passengers in the Indian Railways. Investigation is on into the matter.
