Opposition backs Uddhavs criticism of BJP

New Delhi, March 13 (ANI): Various opposition parties have backed Shiv Sena Chief Uddhav Thackeray’s veiled attack on the BJP in the party mouthpiece Saamna. Thackeray said that the Saffron Party has angered its allies. There are no saints left in politics these days and everyone is an opportunist. Instead of attacking its enemies, the BJP was hurting itself. Ali Anwar of the JDU hit out at the BJP and accused it of not abiding by coalition dharma. He said that this is precisely the reason behind the JD (U)’s decision to sever ties with the BJP. Meanwhile, Naresh Agarwal from the Samajwadi Party has said that the Modi wave is entirely a creation of the media and his association with small regional parties is testimony to his insecurity with regard to the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. US court dismisses Devyani's indictment in visa fraud case, politicos hail verdict

New Delhi/Lucknow, March 13 (ANI): In major relief to Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade, a US court has dropped all charges against her. In a 14 page order, US District Judge said that Khobragade had full diplomatic immunity at the time of her indictment on visa fraud and underpaying her maid. The judge said, Khobragade served as Consular officer in the US from October 26, 2012 to January 8, 2014, a position that cloaked her with consular immunity as per the Vienna Convention. New Delhi/ Nagpur, Mar 9 (ANI): A month ahead of Lok Sabha polls, the internal strife within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) came out in open when the party announced its second list of candidates in a meeting. During the meeting which was attended by BJP's top brass, senior party leaders Sushma Swaraj and Murli Manohar Joshi questioned party president Rajnath Singh for allegedly trying to force Joshi out of Varanasi. Sources present at the party meeting said that Varanasi parliamentary seat was a major point of contention in the meeting. Joshi, the sitting MP from Varanasi asked Rajnath to make clear whether the Varanasi seat be given to him or not. Reacting on the same, NCP Leader Tariq Anwar said that the day BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi was projected; there were speculations of disturbance within the party. He also added that Modi has a dictator attitude. New Delhi, March 04 (ANI): Real estate giant DLF's proposed high-rise residential project, barely a kilometre from Rashtrapati Bhavan, is on hold. The CBI will look into DLF's high-rise plan. The Urban Development Ministry approved DLF's high-rise residential project worth Rs 10,000 crore just one km from Rashtrapati Bhavan keeping aside the security concerns. Last November, the CBI registered a preliminary enquiry (PE) against officials of the urban development (UD) ministry for allegedly favouring DLF, giving it permission to construct the building. The PE was registered following a reference from the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), which received a complaint. Meanwhile, terming the plan as violation of laws, political leaders condemned it.
