The movie has smashed several box-office records. However, few outfits are demanding its ban, alleging that it hurts religious sentiments. Tata, Singapore airlines Indian venture 'Vistara' to begin operations from January 09

New Delhi, Dec 23 (ANI): Singapore Airlines Limited's Indian joint venture with the Tata conglomerate, Vistara, will start flying from January 09, the airlines said. Based in New Delhi, the full service Vistara will begin operations with a fleet of new Airbus A320-200s with 148 seats, Tata SIA Airlines Limited had said in a statement on December 18. Vistara will offer flights to Mumbai and Ahmedabad city initially. Speaking at a promotional event, Chief Executive Officer of Vistara, Phee Teik Yeoh, said he is optimistic about the potential that Indian aviation market has to offer as many airlines in the country are cash strapped. The announcement comes in the middle of a particularly testing time for the airlines industry in India, with budget carrier SpiceJet struggling for survival. Dec 23, 2014

Jaipur, Dec 14 (ANI): Bollywood actor Aamir Khan and actress Anushka Sharma promoted their much awaited comedy-drama film 'PK' in India's pink city Jaipur. The cast and crew of the film is on a multi-city tour to generate a buzz for their upcoming film. Khan started the tour from eastern state of Bihar and also visited northern holy city of Varanasi to promote 'PK'. Khan will now head to other places like western Ahmedabad city and central city of Raipur as part of promotional tour. Meanwhile, Khan said the most important thing is the audience should like the movie. 'PK' has been directed by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. Hirani, who was also present at the promotional event, said his motive behind making the movie is not profit but to deliver a message. India marks World AIDS Day with rallies and sand art

Ahmedabad/ Allahabad/ Shimla, Dec 01 (ANI): People across India took out rallies and made sand sculptures to spread awareness to mark 26th World AIDS Day on Monday. The Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) that causes Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is spread via blood, semen and breast milk. There is no cure for the infection, but AIDS can be kept at bay for many years with cocktails of antiretroviral drugs. Scores of people in Ahmedabad city took to streets to spread awareness about the crippling disease. Project Director of the AIDS Control Society, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, Umesh said that though there has been decline in new cases of HIV, patients still faced a lot of stigma due to less information. Meanwhile, sand artists in Allahabad city made sculptures on river bank of the Ganges, depicting causes and preventive measures of AIDS. Dec 1, 2014
