Akhilesh Yadav, Centre enters into blame game over power crisis in UP

New Delhi/ Kanpur, May 30 (ANI): As the people in UP are reeling under 10- hour power-cuts, the blame game is on between UP CM Akhilesh Yadav and union government. Yadav said that centre is not providing adequate power. He said that due to less supply of coal from Coal India, power crisis is growing in the state. Meanwhile, hitting back at Yadav, Minister of state for power Piyush Goyal said that the state government must buy power from the Centre and that there is no shortage of power. Rayagada, May 30 (ANI): People living in Maoist-affected Rayagada district of Odisha banked on newly formed central government for safety and security. Residents of Maoist-affected villages said they were expecting Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led union government to take concrete steps against Maoists in the region. People complained that the district was neglected during Congress party's regime and hoped for better future. Even though the Congress party introduced many developmental schemes related to agriculture, irrigation, communication, food security and consumer welfare sanctions, people were unhappy with improper implementation. First session of 16th Lok Sabha from June 4

New Delhi, May 29 (ANI): The Union Cabinet has recommended convening of the first session of the 16th Lok Sabha from June 4 to June 11. Briefing the reporters, Parliamentary Affairs Minister M. Venkaiah Naidu confirmed that the first session of 16th Lok Sabha will be held from June 4 to June 11. Naidu said that former parliamentary affairs minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath will be the Protem Speaker, who will perform the duties of the office of the Speaker till the election of Speaker. "During the inaugural session of the 16th Lok Sabha, newly-elected members to Lower House will take oath on June 4 and 5," Naidu said. The first session will also witness election of the new Speaker and the joint address by the President to the two Houses. The Rajya Sabha session will begin on June 9 with a joint address by the President Pranab Mukherjee, Naidu said. May 29, 2014
