Gopinath Munde dies in road accident in Delhi

New Delhi, June 03 (ANI): Senior BJP leader and Union Rural Development Minister Gopinath Munde died in a road accident in Delhi's Moti Bagh area on Tuesday morning. He was first admitted to the Safdarjung Hospital when he met with the accident and was then shifted to the AIIMS trauma centre where he was declared dead. Munde was en route to Indira Gandhi International airport when the incident occurred. Munde had a victory rally scheduled in Beed and Parali. Munde will be cremated on Wednesday. Jun 3, 2014

Former union minister Tapan Sikdar passes away, BJP says great loss to party

New Delhi, June 2 (ANI): Senior BJP leader and former union minister Tapan Sikdar passed away in AIIMS Hospital, in New Delhi on Monday following a cardiac arrest. 69-year-old Sikdar who served as Union minister from 2004 to 2009 was suffering from kidney problem. Muslims suffer because of absence of Uniform civil code: Press Council Chief Justice M Katju

New Delhi, June 01 (ANI): Press Council of India Chairman Markandey Katju came out in support of Uniform civil code and said that the absence of the same lead to suffering of the Muslim community. He said that there is no modernization of their personal law which depletes the conditions of the community even further. Katju also said that due to vote bank politics, Uniform Civil Code has not been made a law till the time. Further, he said that whether Article 370 remains or not, Kashmir cannot be separated from India and that India is a union of states and not a confederation of states. Jun 1, 2014
