BSF informs about roles and duties during fair in West Bengal

Siliguri, Oct 26 (ANI): Paramilitary Border Security Force (BSF) displayed weapons and informed people about its role in country's security during a fair in West Bengal on Sunday (October 26). The BSF organised a day-long fair in Siliguri city where the troopers focused on creating awareness among hundreds of visitors. BSF Inspector General (IG), SK Sood, said that the paramilitary force was raised in 1965 and it would complete 50 years in 2015. Various weapons, equipments used for communication and uniforms were also on display. Counselling stalls were also placed to give out information on recruitment and selection. Oct 26, 2014

Unprovoked firing by Pak at border leaves Kashmir residents perturbed

Poonch, Akhnoor, Oct 26 (ANI): After a fresh incident of ceasefire violation by Pakistan, people in Jammu and Kashmir said that they are perturbed by the constant firing across the international border and want things to return to normal. Pakistani troops resorted to heavy firing in Balakot sector of Mendhar area in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district. The Indian troops guarding the border retaliated effectively. A social worker in Poonch district, Mohammad Zaban, said only a dialogue process can bring peaceful end to this issue. Meanwhile, chairperson of an organisation called Anjuman Jafaria, Iftaqar Ahmed Bazmi, hoped that unprovoked firing by Pakistan stops soon and peace prevails. Oct 26, 2014
