British law minister says India must open up its legal sector

New Delhi, Sept 02 (ANI): British law minister Shailesh Vara, who arrived in New Delhi for his three-day visit said India must open up its legal sector. The United Kingdom's Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State and Minister for the Courts and Legal Aid at the Ministry of Justice, Vara, will also be visiting Ahmedabad. His visit is the latest in a series of senior British government visitors to India to further strengthen the bilateral relationship with the government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Interacting with mediapersons in New Delhi, he added the United Kingdom and India have very strong links on trade, education and legal front. Vara said with Modi's initiative to allow foreign companies to invest in India, overseas lawyers must also be allowed to practice in India. Environment minister says confidence of investors in India has improved

Jaipur, Aug 31 (ANI): Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar on Sunday said that investors' confidence in the domestic market has improved in wake of lumbering economy registering its fastest growth in two-and-a-half years for the quarter ending in June. Gross domestic product grew a faster-than-expected 5.7 percent year-on-year, a government data showed, sharply higher than a provisional 4.6 percent expansion in the previous three months.
