It Happens: 3D street painting in Kashmir attracts locals as well as tourists

Srinagar, Sept 5 (ANI): In a bid to promote 3D art in India, famed artists converged in Jammu and Kashmir state and painted a street in Srinagar city. Artists said the 3D painting was common in foreign countries and should also be encouraged in India. The 3D street painting event took place at Zabarwan Park on the banks of Dal lake. The unique art initiative was organised by state’s tourism department along with an event and sports management company, to attract locals as well as tourists. The street painting was being done by a group of painters from Kerala and Mexico. To spread the knowledge of 3D street painting in India, the group is going to travel from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. The artists made 3D paintings of Kashmiri goats standing in front of a water and the signboard reading ‘Kashmir’. Schoolchildren, tourists and locals enthusiastically watched the entire process. Kashmir, once dubbed the Switzerland of the east was once heaven for skiers, honeymooners and film-makers who were drawn to its soaring peaks, fruit orchards and timber houseboats on the Dal lake in capital Srinagar. It Happens: Vibrant Indian culture draws tourists to fair in Rajkot

Rajkot, Sept 5 (ANI): Tourists from across the globe flocked at a fair in Rajkot to be a part of Indian culture and heritage. The four-day long ‘Tarnetar Fair’, which commenced on August 28 in Thangadh village, is an important event in state’s calendar as it is dedicated to Hindu Lord Shiva. Local as well as foreign tourists attended the fair and got attracted to traditional dance and songs. The fair attracts more than 600,000 tourists every year from countries like Germany, USA, Holland, Poland, etc. Foreign tourists were seen clicking photographs of men dressed in traditional attire. Earlier, Tarnetar fair was also one of the most important matchmaking fairs where young Tribal people, elegantly dressed holding large colourful embroidered umbrellas, came in search for their brides. New Delhi, Sep 05 (ANI): Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott, who is on a two-day visit in India received a ceremonial reception at the President’s House in Delhi on Friday. Dhaka, Sep 05 (ANI): Investors, entrepreneurs, policy makers, ministers and government officials from India and Bangladesh came together in Dhaka for a 2-day long business conclave, in an effort to enhance bilateral trade and connectivity. Another aim was to tap Bangladesh's business potential with India's northeastern region and West Bengal state. The conclave titled 'A New Phase in Bilateral Economic Relations' was organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce and the India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry with support from the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. The 31 member Indian delegation was led by DoNER minister Gen. (retd) V.K. Singh.
