New Delhi, Sept 10 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said on Wednesday that the state being an ideal destination for investments is attracting investors after the good governance portrayed within 100 days of power by the new government. Addressing a news conference in New Delhi, Chouhan said that the investors are showing keen interest to invest after the good governance portrayed within 100 days of power by the new government. Chouhan said that initiatives by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his government have build up investors' confidence. Meanwhile, Chouhan added that the state is set to welcome investors from India and abroad with a bank of 20,000 hectares of dispute-free land as it aims to become the country's investment hub. Sushma Swaraj arrives in Afghanistan to bolster ties

Kabul, Sep 10 (ANI): Union Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived in Afghanistan, on Wednesday in a bid to bolster ties between the two countries and review key projects that have been implemented in the region by India. Swaraj held talks with Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai on crucial bilateral and regional issues, as well as on defence and security assistance from India. Swaraj also met her Afghanistani counterpart Zarar Ahmad Osmani. She is also expected to hold meeting with presidential candidates in Kabul and inaugurate the new Indian embassy. With her visit to Afghanistan, Swaraj has now visited four of the eight countries in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) since taking over the portfolio. Sep 10, 2014

Police claim to arrest two foreign nationals staying illegally in Dharamshala

Dharamshala, Sep 09 (ANI): The local police claimed to have arrested two foreigners- one Russian and another Israeli- who have been staying illegally in the north Indian foothill town of Dharamsala. The police conducted a drive against foreigners staying illegally in Dharamshala and adjoining areas as a routine check and arrested another national, an Israeli, Gabrial Damian Kattan, without any valid documents at Dharamkot village near Mcleodganj town. Kattan came to India in 1999 and has been staying at different places secretly since then. He was also found in possession of two passports, one Argentinean passport expired in the year 2007 while the Israeli passport he possessed expired in 2012. The two accused have been booked under Foreigners Act, 1946 and sent to judicial custody till September 18 by a local court on Monday. Sep 9, 2014

India will not block sick Italian marine's treatment: Sushma

New Delhi, Sept 09 (ANI): India will not stop Italian marine facing murder charges from returning home for medical treatment, said Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj, a case that has soured relations between New Delhi and Rome. Supreme Court will decide whether to accept the appeal filed by one of the two Italian marines, to go home on medical grounds for recovery after he was admitted to a hospital for a health condition similar to a mild stroke. The marines, Massimiliano Latorre and Salvatore Girone, part of a military security team protecting a tanker from piracy are accused of shooting two Indian fishermen off the coast of Kerala in February 2012. Supreme Court lawyer, KTS Tulsi, said that one of the Italian marines has filed an appeal to go back to Italy on medical grounds after he was admitted to a hospital complaining of some health problems.
