New Delhi, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tribute to Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat on his death anniversary. PM Modi was accompanied by Vice President Hamid Ansari and Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Manohar Parrikar at Rajghat. President Pranab Mukherjee also laid floral wreath at the cremation spot of Mahatma Gandhi at Rajghat. The day is also observed as Martyrs' Day. The three Service Chiefs, Army Chief General Dalbir Singh Suhag, Navy Chief Admiral RK Dhowan and Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha together paid tribute to Gandhiji. On this day in 1948, Mahatma Gandhi was assassinated at a prayer meeting. An all-religion prayer meeting has been organised at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. Jan 30, 2015

Ahmedabad, Jan 30 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday paid tributes to Mahatma Gandhi on his 67th death anniversary, and to every martyr who laid down his or her life for the nation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to twitter to share his reverence for the Father of the Nation. “My tributes to Pujya Bapu,” tweeted Prime Minister Modi. “On Martyrs' Day I pay homage to each and every Martyr who laid his or her life for our Nation. Their bravery and courage will always inspire,” he added. Meanwhile, Gujarat is paying rich tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on his death anniversary as the entire state will observe two minutes silence at 11 AM. An all-religion prayer meeting has been organised at the Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad and Kirti Mandir in Porbandar, the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. Maruti Suzuki sets up manufacturing plant in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Jan 29 (ANI): Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel laid the foundation stone of Maruti Suzuki’s car manufacturing plant in Ahmedabad city. Japan's Suzuki group plans to set up three plants in Hansalpur village of Ahmedabad, which will exclusively supply to Maruti Suzuki India Limited. The plant is likely to start production in mid-2017. The foundation stone laying ceremony was held in the presence of Japanese ambassador to India, Takeshi Yagi, Chairman and CEO Suzuki Motor Corporation, Osamu Suzuki, and Chairman of Maruti Suzuki India, RC Bhargava. While addressing a gathering, Suzuki said that setting up of the manufacturing facility was beginning of a new era and also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Make in India’ initiative. Thousands of fans thronged Ahmedabad city to take a glimpse of Bachchan, brand ambassador of Gujarat. Actor Dhanush and Bollywood Actress Akshara Haasan, who is making a debut, also participated in kite flying. 'Shamitabh' is slated for release on February 06.
