New Delhi, Nov 10 (ANI): The SandP BSE Sensex and the Nifty rallied over 100 points in trade on Monday, led by gains in ITC, HDFC, Sun Pharma, Axis BankBSE -0.90 % and Dr Reddy's Laboratories. However, it failed to maintain this level and declined afterwards to 27,818.23, showing a loss of 55.36 points or 0.2 per cent at 27,813.27 at 11.31 a.m. local time. Market Expert Akash Jindal said that sensex may cross 30,000 level as India is being seen as an attractive destination by the international investors. He said that India is more attractive for international investors than Brazil, Russia and China or other emerging market. Further, talking about the gold prices, Jindal said that gold prices are expected to come down to Rs. 22,000 as people are now not interested in gold. Nov 10, 2014

India postpones day tourism at Wagah border in view of blast on Pakistani side

Amritsar, Nov 10 (ANI): India's Border Security Force postponed the Day Tourism at Wagah border in Punjab which was scheduled to kick off from November 10, after a suicide bomb attack killed scores of people on the Pakistani side last Sunday. At least 60 people were killed and 110 wounded when the explosion ripped through a car park about 500 metres (yards) from Pakistan's border gate just as hundreds of people left the daily performance. The plan for Day tourism was for tourists who reach early at the Wagah border and the security forces were to give them a tour of the area since the main ceremony is held in the evening. The Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Border Security Force (BSF), MF Farooqui said that the new activity would need elaborate security for the crowd that was expected to turn up for the day tourism. Poonch, Nov 09 (ANI): Authorities beefed up security as the election cell in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir prepares for assembly polls. The assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir will be held in five-phases, beginning on November 25 and ending on December 20. The counting of votes will take place on December 23. As a part of back-up, extra forces have arrived in Poonch on Sunday (November 09), in wake of the cross border firing to ensure safety and fair elections to be held on 2nd December. Ganderbal, Nov 09 (ANI): The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) on Sunday (November 09) expedited reconstruction of roads that were damaged after the worst flood in decades devastated Jammu and Kashmir. The BRO Ganderbal district, have initiated the construction of road surface with macadam and plan to complete it before the snowfall as harsh weather conditions damage the roads and cause difficulties for commuters. The site engineer of BRO, Chander Shekhar said that the road has a lot of pot holes, which can be dangerous for drivers and can cause accidents. Authorities said that the traffic flow on the road is increasing day by day as every year thousands of tourists visit the district and also pilgrims of Amarnath Yatra use this road to reach their destination. Two security personnel hurt in militant attack in Kashmir

Qazigund, Nov 09 (ANI): At least two personnel of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were injured in a militant attack in Qazigund town of Kashmir’s Kulgam district, said police. The militants escaped taking advantage of darkness, added police. They also said search operations had been launched in the area to nab the assailants. The injured troopers were shifted to a nearby medical facility. The militants also opened fire at the bus in which the CRPF personnel were traveling. India has been bolstering its defences along the de facto border with Pakistan, fearing militant groups fighting the US-led coalition in Afghanistan will turn their energies to Kashmir, where it is trying to end a 25-year insurgency.
