Chennai hosts 3 day India international leather fair

Chennai, Feb 03 (ANI): The India international leather fair is drawing huge crowd of customers, traders and exhibitors to Chennai city. The three-day 30th edition of India International Leather Fair 2015 was opened for business visitors from Sunday. The exhibition showcases entire range of products - from raw material to finished products and auxiliary products such as finished leather, shoes, shoe components, leather garments, fashion accessories and leather goods. General Manager of India Trade Promotion Organisation, V Kumar said the machinery and equipments displayed by foreign participants were in great demand among Indians. Sushma Swaraj meets Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov

Beijing, Feb 02 (ANI): Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj on Monday met her Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov while on her four-day visit to China. The two leaders held talks on bilateral and multilateral issues. The meeting was held in the sidelines of the 13th Foreign Ministers' Meeting of Russia-India-China Trilateral, which Swaraj will be attending later. The minister is accompanied by new Foreign Secretary S Jaishankar, MEA Spokesperson Syed Akbaruiddin among other senior ministry officials. China opens additional route to Kailash-Mansarovar in Tibet: MEA

Beijing, Feb 02 (ANI): China agreed to open an additional route to Hindu pilgrimage in Tibet through Nathu La pass, said Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Syed Akbaruddin during Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj visit to Beijing. Akbaruddin said devotees could undertake more comfortable journey by vans and busses to Kailash-Mansarovar, where Lord Shiva is believed to be residing in perpetual meditation state along with his wife Parvati. Swaraj and her Chinese counterpart decided to set up a contact group to discuss the modalities of Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit to Beijing later this year. Swarajs trip comes just days after US President Barack Obama's unprecedented second visit to India that concluded with nuclear deal and defence co-operation between the two countries that evoked considerable concern from China. National cultural festival 'Maati Ke Rang' showcases India's rich cultural diversity in Nagaland

Nagaland, Feb 02 (ANI): Showcasing the cultural diversity of the country on a single platform! "Maati ke Rang", the five-day long cultural extravaganza that concluded recently in Dimapur city of Nagaland brought alive the vivid culture of India. More than 600 artists from all across the country performed during the event organized by the Ministry of Culture with an aim to bring together India's cultural diversity. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju and other dignitaries attended the inaugural day function. Thematic pavilions (Aangans) were put up by different states showcasing their art, craft and food. Visitors relished the delicious cuisines of various states at the stalls. Artists also showed live demonstration of their work and got a chance to sell it directly to the costumers. SAD delegation meets Rajnath Singh demanding justice in 1984 Anti-Sikh Riot Case

New Delhi, Feb 01 (ANI): A delegation of members of Shiromani Akali Dal on Sunday met Home Affairs Minister Rajnath Singh over 1984 Anti-Sikh Riot Case. The leaders visited Singh demanding justice in the case. Delhi SAD (B) President Manjit Singh said that the home ministry received their recommendation and has said that he will ensure justice in the case. Earlier, A government-appointed committee has recommended constitution of a SIT for re-investigation of the 1984 anti-Sikh riot cases. According to sources, the committee headed by former Supreme Court Judge Justice (retd) G P Mathur has submitted its report to Rajnath Singh last week and recommended fresh probe of the anti-Sikh riot cases through a Special Investigation Team.
