President chairs Governors conference of all states

New Delhi, Feb 11 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday (February 11) met governors and lieutenant governors of states and union territories to discuss emerging challenges and other issues. The two-day governors conference will discuss issues like security, with main focus on borders, finance, sanitation, employment and on achievement of flagship schemes and projects. This is the first conference after Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government came to power in May last year. As per media reports, plans like Modi's 'Swachh Bharat' or Clean India campaign, skill development, etc will also be discussed. Union Ministers Rajnath Singh, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley were also present at the conference. Feb 11, 2015

Singh said that the authorities have decided to build a hostel for the north-eastern students in JNU campus. Rajnath Singh chairs meeting of four CMs of Naxal affected states

New Delhi, Feb 09 (ANI): In order to give shape to fight back against the Naxals, Home Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting of chief ministers of four Maoist-hit states in New Delhi on Monday. The Chief Ministers of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra, Telangana and Odisha attended the meeting today. According to reports the meeting stressed on better coordination among state and central paramilitary forces of the four states to plug loopholes and counter the rebels. President Pranab Mukherjee meets delegates of Heads of Mission part 2

New Delhi, Feb 8 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday met delegates of Heads of Indian Mission. The president while addressing the delegates said that for the first time on day of swearing-in of the new Ministry by President, Prime Minster Narendra Modi decided he would invite all heads of state in SAARC countries. Mukherjee added that with this, subsequent series of initiatives had been taken till then. He added that the institutional arrangements of converting the globe into a global village have been initiated and those days are gone when balance of power was the most important element in foreign policies of the countries.
