Women football academy in Manipur hones the skill of budding players

Manipur, July 19 (ANI): These young girls are sweating out at the Women Football Academy in Kakching to realize their dreams of representing India at the international platform. Established in 2003, the academy is run by Y Satya Singh and has produced several good players since its inception. The academy has a well equipped teaching team including several coaches, physical trainers and doctors. The girls are being given rigorous training under chief coach Ksh. Ibomcha and coaches Khetrimayum Birbal Singh and Moirangthem Nilo Singh. The academy, which has trained over 200 players, including 6 international and 20 national players till now, has some 32 trainees enrolled at present. The academy has won several tournaments including U-15 championship in Kakching, the Nehru Yuva Kendra Football tourbament in Thoubal and the 1st Subroto Mukherjee Cup U-17 championship in 2012. The academy that currently runs at the DSA Kakching playground is looking forward to have its own playing area.

Bollywood diva Rani Mukherjee was also present at the opening and expressed her joy at being present for her friend and designer Sabyasachi's show."Ferozabad" being the theme for the show, Sabyasachi created an unusual set with the interiors of a luxury train and man travelling alone, a couple sitting and enjoying wine while chatting casually and models sashaying down an elaborate and unique ramp.The collection was both subtle and elegant line, and included heavily embroidered and embellished lehengas, coats, kurtas, Bandhgalas and Khadi shirts.Rani also spoke about the collection and said. Newly-wed actress wore a cream sari that was embellished with intricate zari work from his collection and looked elegant with an ornate hairstyle.

New Delhi, July 15 (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday felicitated renowned environmentalist Chandi Prasad Bhatt with 2013 Gandhi Peace Prize at a glittering ceremony in Darbar Hall at Rashtrapati Bhawan. The pioneer of the Chipko movement has also been awarded with the Ramon Magsaysay Award for community leadership in 1982 followed by the Padma Bhushan in 2005. The Gandhi Peace Prize was instituted in 1995 on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. New Delhi, July 04 (ANI): The Supreme Court on Friday referred AAP_s petition seeking dissolution of Delhi assembly to a Constitution bench. The apex court, however, made it clear that pendency of the AAP petition would not preclude the LG from taking appropriate steps if he thinks it fit. AAP had filed a petition in the Supreme Court to direct the Central government and lieutenant governor to dissolve the Delhi assembly, and order fresh elections in the capital.
