Aspiring Indian designer makes it to New York Fashion Week

Dimapur, Oct 24 (ANI): Aspiring young fashion designer, Ikali Sukhalu is all set to make her big entry into the New York Fashion Week after wining the ‘Best Designer’ title of Northeast India Academy of Performing Arts (NIAPA) Award 2013. Sukhalu is based in Dimapur city of Nagaland. The 26-year-old designer along with two other native designers will be representing India at the New York Fashion Week in February 2014. Speaking about her preparation, Sukhalu said she would give her best to make her country proud. Drawing inspiration from her favourite designer, Christopher Bailey, Sukhalu has created designs that are a fusion of modern and Naga ethnic wear. Oct 24, 2013
