Rajnath Singh meets Australian delegation to discuss illegal migration issue

New Delhi, July 23 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met Australian Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, Scott Morrison, in the Parliament to discuss the illegal migration issue. Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj was also present in the meeting. The meeting was mainly to discuss issues relating to illegal migration. In this context, the Australian minister mentioned that a boat with 157 persons onboard was seized by the Australian authorities in the last week of June, 2014. The Union Home Minister stated that India, as a matter of policy, does not support any kind of illegal migration either into its own territory or illegal migration of its citizens to foreign territories. Police arrest three accused in Manipur youth killing

New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Delhi police on Tuesday confirmed the arrest of three men accused of killing a Manipuri youth who was beaten to death by a group of unidentified men. 30-year-old Shaloni was beaten to death in the national capital on Sunday, an incident which again raised concerns over security of people from northeastern states. He was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. On Tuesday, Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi assured stringent action in connection with the case. New Delhi, July 22 (ANI): Trading at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed 310.63 points up to stand at 26,025.80. At the National Stock Exchange the Nifty closed 83.65 points up to stand at 7,767.85. Financial Tech and Wockhardt were among the top gainers of Group A with an increase of 10.00% and 6.64% along with National Aluminium Co.Ltd. and Shriram City Union Finance Ltd. with an increase of 6.31% and 6.04% respectively, while the top losers of Group A include Thermax and JPINFRATEC with a decrease of 8.28% and 3.96% along with Torrent Power and Unitech with a decrease of 3.92% and 2.79% at the close of the markets. The Auto sector is up 61.85 points at 15,778.80 while the banking sector is up 71.02 points at 17,688.31 and the realty sector is up 11.15 points at 1,972.75. Guwahati, July 22 (ANI): Various activist groups, including tribal organisations and All Assam Students Union (AASU) staged a protest in Assam against the state government for its inability to stop Bangladeshis infiltrate into the state. The proposal sent by Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi___s cabinet to the central government to accommodate Bangladeshis on humanity grounds has not been welcomed by the people of the state. Last week, the state cabinet passed a proposal to grant Indian citizenship to refugees who fled Bangladesh to avoid religious persecution and entered the country after 1971.
