Pak crisis: PM Nawaz Sharif to address joint session of Parliament today

Islamabad, Sept 2 (ANI): Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is due to address joint session of Parliament on Tuesday in which the ongoing political crisis and the violent protests will be discussed. Pakistan is preparing to launch a selective crackdown against anti-government protesters trying to bring down the government of Nawaz Sharif, the defence minister said, warning demonstrators against storming government buildings. Dashing chances of a peace deal between the government and protest leaders Imran Khan and Tahir ul-Qadri, anti-government protesters stormed the state television building in the heart of the heavily guarded capital earlier on Monday. Around 18 people arrested for gambling in Delhi's 5 star hotel

New Delhi, Sep 01 (ANI): Delhi Additional Commissioner of Police SBS Tyagi on Monday said that they have arrested around 18 people for gambling in a 5-star hotel, Le Meridian of Delhi. Tyagi said that 2 people had booked the suite and the rest 16 who were guests were not checked for their identity by the hotel authorities. He further said that this was a security lapse from the part of the hotel and that actions can be taken against them for the same. Politicos react over tense situation in Pakistan

New Delhi, Aug 31 (ANI): Political leaders on Sunday reacted over the tense situation in Pakistan's capital Islamabad where over 300 people were injured in clashes between Pakistani police and protesters outside the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's official residence, demanding his resignation. Congress leader Salman Khurshid said New Delhi couldn't do much to ensure peace in Pakistan. BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, feared that Pakistan could emerge as a theocratic state, posing danger of India.
