Chinese envoy to India optimistic about trilateral relations between India, China and the US

New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): Chinese envoy to India on Saturday said he hoped the trilateral relations between India, China and the US would contribute greatly to world peace and development. Envoy Le Yucheng was speaking at a conference "Shaping the 21st Century: India, US and China", organised ahead of US president Barak Obama's visit to India early next year. President Barack Obama will visit India in January at the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. While China and India have close economic and historical links, there is deep suspicion too, fuelled in part by a festering border dispute. Dec 13, 2014

Cross border trade in Kashmir going strong

Poonch, Dec 13 (ANI): Cross-border trade between Indian Kashmir and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) has picked up after recent flash floods damaged several bridges. The cross border trade at Chakan-da-Bagh was suspended in September due to the damage of the Time-Domain Reflectometer (TDR) cause way bridge on the Line of Control (LoC).This is the only link which connects Poonch in Indian Kashmir with Rawalkot in PoK. Jammu and Kashmir had witnessed worst flooding in September in which hundreds were killed and marooned. The valley is still recuperating from the after effects. The cross-border trade between the two nations was resumed after almost three weeks in October. A trader, Aziz, expressed happiness over resumption of cross-border trade, adding apples from Pakistan are very popular among the Indians. Dec 13, 2014

Police detains Chinese national for intruding into Indian territory

Gorakhpur, Dec 12 (ANI): Police detained a Chinese national, who crossed into Indian territory from Nepal, in Gorakhpur city of Uttar Pradesh, said a senior official. Huang Jinjing, who had a 15-day tourist visa for Nepal, intruded into Indian side without any valid document. The police have registered a case against him. India, Nepal has a long porous border and it easy for anybody to sneak into each other region. Dec 12, 2014
