India reels under intense heat wave

Bhopal / Nagpur / Chandigarh / New Delhi, May 30 (ANI): Several parts of India are reeling under a heat wave as the mercury continues to soar forcing most of the people to stay indoors. It was the pedestrians and two-wheeler riders who suffered the brunt of heat the most and looked for ways to beat it. Locals were seen carrying umbrellas, wearing protective clothing and drinking fruit juice to protect themselves. Roadside juice vendors did brisk business as locals thronged shops for refreshing cold beverages. While the heat waves are likely to continue for the next several days in Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh, according to the meteorological department, there will be some respite for people in North India.
