Indian army and police recover vehicles allegedly used in Assam attacks

Kokrajhar, Dec 29 (ANI): Security forces recovered vehicles allegedly used in last week's militant attacks in Assam from a dense forest close to the India-Bhutan border. Indian army and Assam state police recovered eight motorbikes and a car in a joint operation. India has intensified army operations to hunt down tribal militants in Assam after rebels killed at least 80 people last week, the deadliest in the remote area in years.India has also sought cooperation from Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh in the offensive against the tribal militants. For decades, the Bodos have been fighting for a state of their own called Bodoland, accusing New Delhi of plundering their state's resources and flooding the area with outsiders. Dec 29, 2014

Reactions flow after TTP accuses Pak army of using youth for 'blood game', calls soldiers to join th

New Delhi, Dec 29 (ANI): Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan has released a video accusing Pakistan army of using youth for 'blood game' during war of Liberation in 1971 and also various proxy wars against Kashmir. TTP has also asked the Pak army officials to join them in a war against the Pak army which has always attacked Mujahideens. The video purportedly of its senior Commander Adnan Rashid, a former Pakistan Air Force official who was involved in an attack on ex-dictator Gen Pervez Musharraf, calls upon the soldiers of Pakistani Army to join the TTP listing the atrocities committed by the force including "killing of millions" and "raping of own sisters" during the Bangladesh Liberation War in 1971. Defence Expert Commodore (Retd) Ranjit B Rai said that Pakistan is not in a condition to bear another attack by TTP. Security stepped up along border in wake of attacks in India's northeast

Kanpur/ New Delhi/ Assam, Dec 27 (ANI): Director General (DG) of Seema Sashtra Bal (SSB) or armed border force on Friday (December 26) said they would cooperate with army and police against the National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB), the tribal militant group that had shot dead more than 80 people in Assam this week. India has also sought help from Bhutan, Myanmar and Bangladesh in an offensive against the militant group. Some militants may have fled to neighbouring Bhutan while their leader is believed to be in Myanmar, officials and police said, prompting calls for cooperation. Meanwhile, SSB DG B.D. Sharma said the problem was intense in the region due to open border.
