New Delhi, Aug 28 (ANI): A Bangalore based model has filed a case against Karthik Gowda, son of Union Railway Minister Sadananda Gowda, under section 420, 376 and 406 (charges relating to cheating and dishonesty) of the Indian Penal Code. The model claims that she got married to Karthik Gowda on June 5, 2014 after meeting him on May 8, 2014. The model also said that she wanted his family to accept her as their daughter-in-law. Gowda, however, refuted the allegations saying that since the news came right after his son Karthik Gowda’s engagement, it raises suspicion. Meanwhile, political leaders said that a thorough investigation should be done in the case. Aug 28, 2014

New Delhi, Aug 27 (ANI): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Wednesday said that the rumors being spread about his son are all fake and baseless. He assured the public that if any allegations against him or his family member are proved to be true he will quit politics forever and stay at home. Commonwealth games medalists felicitated

New Delhi/Imphal, Aug 27 (ANI): Medal winners of the recently concluded Glasgow Commonwealth games were recently felicitated by Ministry of Sports at a function at Vigyan Bhawan in Capital New Delhi. Union Sports Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju and former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar handed over the memento and prize money to the award winning players. India finished at the 5th position by winning 64 medals. The Manipur government also felicitated the commonwealth games participants from the state in a function at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex in Imphal. While weightlifting gold medalist Sanjita Khumukcham received Rs.15 Lakh, bronze medal winner in Judo Kalpana Thoudam received Rs.8 lakh. 6 silver medalists- Mirabai Saikhom Chanu in weight lifting, Sushila Likmabam in Judo, Sarita Laishram and Devendro Laishram in boxing and Kangujam Chinglensana and Kotharjit Kadangbam in hockey received Rs 10 lakh each. New Delhi, Aug 26 (ANI): The BJP has dropped its veteran leaders LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi from the Parliamentary Board. BJP president Amit Shah, Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and party general secretary JP Nadda have been included in the board. The two senior leaders will be a part of the BJP's 'marg darshak mandal'. Congress' Preneet Kaur wins Patiala by poll

Patiala, Aug 25 (ANI): Congress leader and former union minister Preneet Kaur on Monday won the Patiala Assembly seat. She defeated Bhagwan Dass Juneja, her rival from SAD, by over 23,000 votes.
