Deadly Fire Rips Through Karaoke Parlor in Southern China

At least 18 people were killed when a fire broke out in a karaoke parlor around 90 miles north of Guangzhou in southern China in the early hours of April 24. The blaze began after midnight and was extinguished by 1 am, and the Qingyuan Public Security Bureau said in a statement published on its Weibo page that arson was suspected.
