Ajit Singh meets injured protesters in hospital, asks govt to push up CC Singh memorial issue

New Delhi/ Ghaziabad, Sep 19 (ANI): RLD Chief Ajit Singh on Friday reached the hospital in Ghaziabad where his supporters who got injured during a protest yesterday are admitted. Singh visited to meet the injured supporters of the party. Earlier on Thursday, about 200 Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) and Bharatiya Kishan Union workers blocked traffic on National Highway-58 and tried to disrupt the water supply from Muradnagar to Sonia Vihar in Delhi. Singh said that it should be seen that the issue is pushed forward by the government. Meanwhile, Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu said that any government building cannot be turned into memorial as per the Supreme Court's order. Kolkata Student union calls for shutdown over alleged molestation of Jadavpur University student

Kolkata, Sep 18 (ANI): Four student unions in West Bengal called for a strike on Thursday and demanded resignation of Vice Chancellor of Jadavpur University over alleged molestation of a student in university hostel. Students also accused police of attacking and molesting girls while they were protesting against the alleged molestation of a fellow student in the university. The incident happened when students were demonstrating against molestation of the second year student of Jadavpur University in Kolkata. According to reports, the student was molested by few male students who dragged her inside the boy's hostel on August 28. Boxer Manoj Kumar to get Arjuna Award after winning court battle

Gandhi launched the logo on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, saying it was his pet scheme. She also said childline services will be provided in around 280 locations across the country in the coming days, besides opening new child rights protection hubs. New Delhi, Sep 17 (ANI): Social Justice and Empowerment Minister said on Wednesday that his department had received complaints against some NGO's on which investigations were carried out and two NGO's were taken into consideration, of which one is being handled by former Union Minister Salman Khurshid and his wife. He further said that during the investigation many documents of the NGO were found fake. Woman molestation case: 35 Jadavpur University students arrested for protesting

Kolkata, Sep 17 (ANI): About 35 students who were protesting outside the Jadavpur university campus against the molestation of a woman student were arrested by the police on Wednesday. The students were gheraoing the vice chancellor and registrar demanding a fresh probe into the case where a woman student was allegedly dragged into a men's hostel and sexually molested. The students' union demanded a fresh probe panel and insisted that the gherao would not be lifted until some assurance was given in the matter. It is being widely reported that the students were lathicharged by the police and dragged.
