New Delhi, Oct 30 (ANI): There is a huge scope for development in the Northeast and the maximum potential of the region can be explored only through collective effort. Recently, under the theme of "A strong Northeast is India's asset", the 4th edition of the Young Leaders Connect programme brought together several leaders and achievers from the Northeast at the India Habitat Center in capital New Delhi. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, footballer Baichung Bhutia, senior Delhi Police officers and several northeast activists, students, entrepreneurs and politicians were present at the event. An initiative of YouthNet, a non-profit organization based in Nagaland, the conclave was started with an aim to develop greater awareness and understanding of issues affecting the development of the region. Music video launched on Modi's Clean India vision

Mumbai, Oct 29 (ANI): Singer and Producer Ravindra Singh along with singer Mohit Chauhan launched a music video supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Clean India mission and his vision of development, in showbiz capital Mumbai. Modi had launched the 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan' or Clean India Mission, on birth anniversary of freedom fighter Mahatma Gandhi to modernise sanitation within five years. The video titled 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' (One India, glorious India) has been released to create awareness among the masses on cleanliness. Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini and top sporting stars like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahindra Singh Dhoni, Saina Nehwal, Mary Kom and Sushil Kumar feature in the video. The video is directed by film and television actor, Rajeev Khandelwal, and lyrics are given by Rani Malik. PM Modi greets the nation on Chhath Puja

New Delhi, Oct 29 (ANI): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday extended his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Chhath Puja. "My greetings on the auspicious occasion of Chhath Puja. May the blessings of the Sun God brighten our lives with joy, peace and prosperity," said Prime Minister Modi. The Chhath is celebrated on the sixth and seventh day, after Diwali. Chhath is considered an extremely auspicious festival by the people of Bihar and in parts of Uttar Pradesh state. Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung earlier on Tuesday announced the declaration of Chhath Puja as a public holiday in the national capital, wherein all the government offices in the state will be shut on the occasion. Kashmir needs responsible leader: CPI (M)

New Delhi/ Srinagar, Oct 28 (ANI): Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) said on Tuesday the people of Jammu and Kashmir should choose a leader who can help them in rehabilitation after the floods last month destroyed the valley. State unit secretary of CPI-M in Jammu and Kashmir, Mohammed Yousuf Tarigami, said elections in the state should be conducted as scheduled for December. However, Kashmir's capital Srinagar has witnessed protests with people demanding the assembly polls be postponed. The business, agriculture, tourism and handicraft industries have all gone down after the floods. India's opposition Congress party had also opposed the elections in the state.
